Default Vanilla Addition

I made a Partial Mash Creme Ale last Sunday. The recipe that I came up with called for the addition of 2 oz of Vanilla at 5 minutes left in the boil. Unfortunately I forgot to put it in and now my wort is bubbling away in my fermentor.

My question is can I add the Vanilla when I rack to my Corny? If so how? Is there a contamination issue?

Thanks
TD

Throw it in any time. Vanilla extract is ~40% alcohol. Hard for many contaminants to live in that.

Also, make sure it's REAL vanilla extract...artficial or imitation will give you weird flavors.
