Default Treating campden water

Hi, all. I've been brewing for 9-10 months brewed probably 10-12 batches. 2 all grain.
My question is: can I treat my campden water in my aluminum kettle? I've been told not to do so in a stainless kettle because It can pit the metal(hearsay). I have been currently treating it in my bucket fermentor. Which is only 7 gallons and I have to pail it over or pick up it all and dump most of it on my kitchen floor. I have a pump 2 tier system so once the waters in the kettle there's no more lifting. And I have a hose connected to my sink.
Thanks for the info!

You definitely can use campden in an aluminum kettle. Stainless is even better. You definitely shouldn't let bleach sit on stainless or let acid sit on your aluminum, but campden is pretty mild stuff, and you don't use much at all.

If you couldn't use Campden in stainless steel, you wouldn't be able to boil your wort in stainless steel, if you'd treated the water with campden. When you hear stuff like that, take a minute and think to yourself, "does it make sense?"
