Default Thermal Mass when strike water heated in MLT

Viewed the various posts on thermal mass here. Really helpful. Thanks.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're heating your strike water in your MLT (as we are in a Blichmann Boiler Maker), then isn't your thermal mass essentially 0? Aside from the kettle walls that get a bit hotter from the rise in water level as you add grain, isn't the fact that the MLT is already heated (more or less) negate this part of determining strike temp?
