Tedious, I know efficiency

Does this look like I got the method and math right.

6kg (13lbs) of grain with PPG of 493
I get 8 Gallon at 1050

so 50*8 = 400

My mash effieciency is 400/493*100= 81%

I get 6.5 gallon in the fermenter at say 1060
So 60*6.5=390

My brewhouse efficiency is 390/493*100 = 79%

(The figures are just an example, not an actual batch)

the method I use to calculate efficiency:
enter amounts and types of grain into promash.

Brew.

Measure OG (adjusted for temp measured at).

Adjust % Efficiency on promash to trigger the measured OG.

I'm not entirely familiar with "ppg" scale. I know promash has Potential SG pppg, but for two row this figure stays static as the amounts are adjusted. The value for british two row is 1.038. Any info you can provide about these units of measurements would help. Perhaps we can both learn from this.

Mash efficiency is sugar in the wort

Brewhouse efficiency is sugar in the fermenter. Takes into acount all losses of sugar from dead spaces etc. You can have a good mash efficiecey but loose lots of wort(sugar) allong the way so end up with poor brewhouse efficiencey.
