Probably have enough malted barley and wheat for two batches left. They have been stored in plastic buckets with gaskets on the lids at a constant 74*F. 18-24 months old. Grain smells good, no insects.

Should I chance it?

Whole malted barley (un-milled) is pretty stable stuff when kept dry. You could probably sit on it for another year with no issues.

I have. I still have a few bags of stray munich and crystal floating around.

I taste the grains. If the flavor is there I use it. If it taste stale and really hard to bite on, I chuck it.

I also can tell when the older grains hit the mill, it gets louder and my drill stumbles a bit.
