Default Removing hops from boil - Brew session in progress, need help!

I have too much volume in my kettle and I need to boil it down a bit. Can I just remove the hops and keep boiling? They are pretty much contained in muslin bags.

Default too much volume

Remember that the wet hops will add to the visible volume you have. Even after you drain them the volume will be less.

There's only 2 oz in the boil and have 6 gallons, need to get down to 5.25. I yanked the bags out just now and didn't let them drain.

I take back my post I assume you're going to readd the hops when you're finished boiling it down.
