Pumpkin in boil instead of turbid mash?

Hello,
I have been considering trying my hand at a pumpkin lambic, but really don't want to go to the trouble of a turbid mash. The slacker way of getting around turbid mashing is to add maltodextrin or whole wheat flour to the end of the boil.
My question: if I were to throw some of the pumpkin into the boil kettle, would it contribute enough starch to appease the wee beasties, or would I still need the added starches? Has anyone tried this?
Thanks in advance.
