I made the dumbest mistake 3 days ago and need to know if this batch is toast or not. I am brewing an INdia Pale Ale. I pitched the liquid yeast long before it was ready. Don't ask why, I was brewing right after I came home from the hospital and I was still on soom good pain meds. So now it has been sitting in primary since Thursday with NO activity. Can I buy more yeast on Wednesday and repitch it or am I screwed? Thanks for any advice!
:drunk:

Was the wort too hot? Or just the starter wasn't bubbling yet? If the former, you'll need some more yeast. If the latter, it ought to take off itself, slowley. Or add some more yeast. Either way, no harm unless wild beasties get in. You did remember to boil? sanitize?

The temp was good. It was aroung 70 when I pitched. I am very clean in my kitchen. It was the fact that the yeast had not started to bubble yet. So I will be ok picking up more yeast on Wednesday an repitching thursday or friday? Thanks for the help!

before you get the yeast on Wednesday I wouldnt be shocked if you had a nice krausen on your beer and everything is going along just fine

I just wanted to let everyone know that things are going smoothly. It started fermentin wildly this moring and has now taken off. Thanks for teaching me a little patience.:mug:

I pitched a smack pack without smacking it in good time, and it took 3 days for a full fermentation. It got infected by wild yeast, so that was bad.

But dont toss it! Mine is still drinkable.
