I considered that option. And the option of just using 2 pots (I can get 2 turkey fryers) and boiling down 13gal for a 5gal batch in order to get sufficient efficiency. However I decided that a couple pounds of DME was not worth the effort. I guess i am not an AG purist . I have had good luck using DME in larger brews so i have no problem with that. My 8-8-8 RIS used a couple pounds of DME.
