Default New thermometer can be a good thing

I used my new thermometer today I bought thinking my old one was off. It was really off. The picture shows my old one on the right after 30 minutes. New one on the left. I was always adding heat to keep the mash temp up. It turns out, with the new thermometer, my system will hold temp. for 60 minutes.
