Default New mill how is my crush?

Just got a Monster Mill MM3-1. When it came the one roller adjust knobs was loose so I had to remeasure the gap. I tried to get it to the factory default of 0.045 but it may be a bit less as it takes a bit of force to get the feeler gauges in and out. I may try remeasure, and not make it so tight on the feeler gauge unless it is supposed to be. Here are a couple of pictures of the crush. What do you think of this crush? If you have an MM3-1 what is your gap setting?

I have a mm3 and set my gap at .033. I get a seamless sparge and 84% efficiency.

And mine is A LOT finer than that. I'd crank it in a bit.

I spoke with the manufacturer and he suggested I adjust the gap to between 0.040" and 0.042". I have set it to 0.040" for now and will go finer based on my next brew. Here is the current look of it, looks a lot better than at 0.045.

I have my mill set at .39, I wet the grains the night before and double mill in the morning before I start my strike water. I get a thorough crush with most of the husks intact and between 81% and 85% efficiency (depends on if I'm using wheat or Pilsner malts that drag on my efficiency).

I ended up changing to 0.038" and just got an 88% eff on my first use. I was stunned and remeasured a few times to triple check.

I'm at 0.030 and do a double crush. No stuck sparges, efficiency is good too. Around 84%

Sent from my super rad tablet device thingy.
