Default On my way to Lagerville!!!

Scored this off of Craigs List for $50 bucks.

Old Montgomery Wards unit, but it cooled down to -6 in less then 2 hours. Holds a total of 6 Cornies.

Along with the new Ranco, I am ready to Lager

Anyone have any suggestions on an easy first lager. Been brewing since mid summer. Have done several extracts, and 5 all grain batch's. ready to try a lager. Any info, recipies, links to lager info would be greatly appreciated.

Easy recipe:

10lb Munich
1oz Tettnang 60min
1oz Tettnang 10min
WLP830 repitch from slurry

I can't vouch for how it tastes as a finished beer, but it went into the fermenter smelling absolutely heavenly!

Edit: Pick up the Noonan book if you can. Puts me to sleep, but I still learn stuff....

Good CL score! I picked up a kenmore 23 a few months ago for $150. It'll hold 17 discs of paper the size of kegs, but I dont have enough kegs to confirm that.. yet!

Aistin Homebrew Supply has some great lagers.

good job.

Congrats on the score! +1 on the Noonan book and stock up on some Pilsner malt if you want to brew German lagers. And, if you've not already done so, double check that that extension cord is rated for the same or better than the amperage of your freezer. I know chest freezers, especially older ones, can pull a lot of amps and those extension cords are only rated for so much.
