Default My Starter needs a Blow off tube

So a got Wyeast 1056. let it set at room temp like your supposed to. made a starter this morning. then added it to another starter from a previous batch that I used the same yeast on. it took off like a rocket. I have krausen on my starter its 1qt in a half gallon jug.. never seen this with my other starters. just thought it was interesting

I only had it happen once, now I put one or two drops of foam control in and no more problems.

+1... hardly more than 1/8" of krausen normally. Not to mention, with foam control I can also boil about 800mL of starter wort directly in my 1L flask without boilover, and could probably do 900mL or more if I had a gas range that gave better heat control than this crappy electric range
