Default malted barley barter

I have a bunch of 6 row I am looking to trade for 2 row. 2lbs for 1 lb in the Syracuse area.

Gee that never occurred to me, No my last brew was a Oatmeal Stout. I have read that 2 row is a better base malt so I thought maybe someone who has excess might want to try using some 6 row that might better suit another style to brew.

naaaa.... the biggest difference between 2 row and 6 row is ... 6 row has a higher diastatic power (can convert more specialty grains than 2 row) and has more husk material.. which isn't a bad thing as it can help keep the grain bed from sticking. other than that it's a base grain just like 2 row.

you'll never know the difference in the beer. I'd just use it.

Unless you have someone right next door to trade with, your talking about ~$2.00 worth of grain.

I'll start putting a dent in that 150LBS of six row soon.
