Default Keggles wont drain?

Some friends and I built a three tier brew stand and made three keggles. The MT has a SS false bottom and dip tube. The HLT and BK have a brass a soft copper dip tube. All three keggles seem to stop draining once the liquid level reaches the ball valve.

Put hose on valves and bring down free end of it.
Liquid in hose will draw off liquid in kettle.

x2. It's the "head" (aka the elevation) between the valve and the bottom of the tubing that will allow the bottom of the kettles to drain.

Refer to this post: http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/mash...ml#post4084167

Also notice that the hose must be filled to create a vacuum. Can't have any air in the hose.

Thanks for the quick replies! I had a hose on the mash tun but it was pretty short. I'll give the longer hose a shot.

Just like with siphoning your brew out of fermenter, the end of the hose needs to be lower than the valve (and end of the dip tube).

Yep, it has to reach the bottom of the lower vessel, to "siphon" out the wort or water.

Also, may sure that your diptube connection inside the keg is tight and not leaking any air....

Sorry Yooper! Had a few beers and wasn't paying enough attention. My fault entirely :-)
