Sounds good to me. I can relate, though. After I dropped a 5 gallon glass carboy full of wort in the foyer of my brand new house after a drunken brew session, I now refuse to crack a beer until the first hop addition.

Glad you decided to add the honey anyway...it's probably not a bad time to add it anyway as mead makers will advise against every boiling honey.
