You mean a dip tube? Like to pick up liquid from the very bottom of the keg?

I'm not sure I've ever heard of a drip tube....

I'm not sure it is worth the $5-10 in savings "build" a dip tube that would retail for $15-25. Just buy one from bargain fittings:

I used a compression fitting and some SS tubing and a tubing bender. If you have to tools it is very cheap. Find a hose house that builds Hydraulic assemblies (like the one I work for, Stuart Hose & Pipe)and they will take care of you. We just opened a location in Houston, don't know how far that is for you but you could try there.

I made mine out of stainless 1/2" pipe and the threadless bulkhead connector from Bargain Fittings. One 6" piece from the coupling into a elbow. Then I cut another six inch piece down so it is right above the bottom. Wanted to keep my dip tube 1/2" to match the rest of my system. Picture is my HLT. If you are using the keg to boil your wort, you'll want something closer to the edge, so something flexible. Like stated above. Bargain fittings should have anything you need.
