Default Help me design a system

ok i'm going with a 2 cooler setup. My question is does anyone use a 5gal for HLT and 10g cooler for MLT? My reason for asking is because i want to leave room for big 5gal batches w/o worring about space. The reason i don't want to buy 2 10 gallon cooler is cost. Do you see this as a problem??

thanks Jeremy

You will probably want a bigger HLT. I use a 6gal stock pot and it's barely big enough. I obviously can't put all the water in there, I have to heat the mash water, then the sparge water (sometimes in twos). You could use your boil pot as a HLT and sparge into a bucket or something, then transfer to the boil kettle if you really want to keep cost down.
