Grain crush question
So the LHBS was weighing out my grains for a pale ale I am doing on Monday. I have my own barley crusher so I asked the guy working not to crush the grains. So while I am picking out everything I need for the batch I hear their crusher turn on. I caught him and told him I needed the grains to be uncrushed. So long story short...about half of my grains are crushed and half are whole still. Would it be too much crush if I sent the whole grain bill through my barley crusher or would this make mashing and sparging too difficult? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Happy brewing to all!!

No just send it all through. The LHBS probably has a pretty course crush anyway.

I'll second that!

I would have never left the store with grains half crushed. The LHBS should have replaced the crushed grains without question.
But that's just my "customer is always right" thing. +1 on crush again. |
I ran some two row through twice to clean up a new mill, I would not runt through twice, way too fine.
