Default First All Grain - White Specks in Wort?

I made my first go at all grain last night, and after I was transfering to fermenter from the brew pot, I was noticing a lot of small while specks or flecks in the wort. I noticed some coming to the surface during the boil and forming a little scum, but I skimmed them all off (or so I thought). Is this normal for all grain, or did I do something wrong somewhere?

Perfectly normal. That is "break material" which is proteins from the grains. AG batches always seem to have more than extract does.

Thanks, makes me a lot less apprehensive about what's in the tank!

Break material is weird the first time you see it!

"Hot break" looks like egg drop soup in the wort. "Cold break" looks like big goobers in the wort. Both are very good signs!
