Default Direct fire recirculation

I have been using a three converted keggle system with a march pump through which I continuously recirculate my mash that is heated via direct fire. I have been using a stainless steel braided hose to recirculate with and have started to wonder if the way the wort is coming out of the hose in a single stream is some how affecting the grain bed. Is this only an issue during vorlauf? Is there any reason TO vorlauf if one is recirculating the entire time?

I would be more concerned about direct firing if you're not using a false bottom.
Vorlauf is to clear the contents that first come from your MLT and if you're recirculating probably isn't required, but firing directly under the grains could cause scorching issues.

I definately have a false bottom with a one-two gallon grant. Thanks for the replies.
