The first time I brewed this was the extract recipe from the book and it was fantastic. It took about 4-5 weeks in the bottle before the hop profile seemed right but I never thought I could brew such a great beer from extract.
I am now doing all grain and i used Yoopers DFH 60 recipe found on this site. I hopped it exactly as she said in the recipe. I just transfered it to secondary and dry hopped so I do not have a comparison yet.
To answer your question, I don't think you can go wrong either way, and I would recommend which ever way you decide, do it the other way the next time to see if there is much difference and find out which way you like better. If you think you need to hop it up a bit, go for it, although my preference is to try the recipe as written and then the next time expand on it to suit my personal tastes if necessary.
