Anyone try a decoction mash for an elevated malt profile on an American pale?

No, but I use melanoidin malt in mine. Not the same as a deco, but close. Very delicious.

+1 As Melanoidin accentuates the malt characteristics, in addition, try and use a yeast that will also accentuate a maltier grain bill instead of a typical clean yeast.

I do a double decoction every time. Adds a nice color also.

Nice. I'm going to brew a double decoction this weekend then. Single malt Munich I, and falconers flight hops. Should be a good sess pale
