Default Conversion Efficiency vs. Pre-Boil Efficiency

Brewers Friend has a log for both conversion efficiency and pre-boil efficiency. Can someone explain the difference?

If your lauter leaves a lot of sugars in the tun it's not very efficient even though you may have had good conversion.
