Default Cleaning & caring for a grain mill

The crankandstein website doesn't have a users manual. What do you guys do to keep your mill in tip-top shape?

My mill (not a crank) gets zero special treatment. The only thing I'd recommend is NOT storing it outdoors. Mine started to rust when I did that.

I do the same. Blow off the fine dust that collects and thats about it.

1. When finished, set on shelf until next use.

2. Use.

3. Repeat.

Shop vac or compressed air. That's it. Mine has been going 20 years strong with no problems. I think I've squirted some lube on the crank spindle a couple times when it got a little squeaky. That was 7+ years ago.

I got the crankandstein 2 roller with instructions, and they mention oiling the bushings "as needed" and that is it.
