Recipes 

I would like to get some opinions of using a Lager yeast and an Ale yeast on the same all grain recipe. Age the lager 56 days or 8 weeks and the ale for 28 days. Sample them. Could you tell the difference in a blind taste test?

I would say yes if it were served at proper tempertures and not at freezing temps.

And I would like to think any respecting homebrewer would be able to also.
The time difference alone would make a big change in taste.

I've only done comparisons with darker beers & it doesn't seem to make much, if any, difference. To accurately make a comparison, you have to condition the ale as long as you lager, then taste them at the same temperatures. I'd expect the differences would show up more at the pale end.
