Default Calculating wort efficiency after mashing

After mashing and sparring you have the wort. Then you take a hydrometer reading. X the points by the number of gallons Collected. So where do you get the points, or is that just a standard 1.---etc etc reading. If you get me.


Would that mean say 5 gallons x 1.080 div by the number of lbs of grain used. Then the number?
