Do you have a kegging setup? If not, you're going to have a lot of difficulty getting a beer like an English draught ale. http://hbd.org/brewery/cm3/recs/01_41.html gives a recipe that looks to me like it should be fairly close (but I haven't had one for over 30 years).
The pale malt should be English. Maris Otter is popular and easy to find. The crystal malt again should preferably be English with an L rating of 50 - 60. I use Muntons because that's what the LHBS stocks.
The hops should have about 5%AA.
Make sure you don't over carbonate it (I keep the keg pressurized at 3 PSI), and don't chill below 55F.
