Default water in my regulator gauges?

So after reading the best way to check for leaks was to submerge connections in water, I dunked my regulator in the sink, and the gauges promptly filled with water... I drained as much as I could, but there's still a bit... Am I totally screwed?

How did you dunk a reg in a sink while attached to the tank without tilting the tank and possibly having liquid co2 leak into the reg?(bad)I dunked reg in bathtub in a garbage can.My gauges have screw off covers. But for what its worth,I called manufacturer before dunking and they said no harm to reg can be done by dunking. If the water got in fast it will leak out fast, stick it near a heater.

The worst that might happen is the gauges use cardstock faces, they'll warp when they dry, and the needle(s) may drag.

If you can remove the faces without damaging the gauges, do it...

Cheers!
