Word of warning. 1/6 kegs seem to cost more than their equivalent in bottles. This is not counting the deposits. The logic behind this eludes me as it is far less packaging (and its reusable) than bottling, but there it is.

IME it really depends on the beer. Something on the cheaper side of craft beer (Harpoon, Sam, etc.) will be a little more or the same as in bottles. I can get those for around $70/keg, which works out to be $7.50 a six pack. Not too bad.

However, I can get a keg of Allagash, Ommegang, etc. for say $80-85 for the lighter styles. At $85 that's $3.21 for a 750 mL bottle, which is less than half what you'd pay retail.

I have noticed that lots are more expensive. Luckily most of my beer will be home brew once I get more Cornys. Also, that 5 gallon keg of Icky (Reno local brewing company called Great Basin, its an IPA with 6.4% aBv) cost me about $55 after tax which puts it close to $1 per 12oz of beer. That was the best deal I could find around. Even Total Wine couldn't touch that price for cheap beer. Also, no deposit on the keg which is a big plus.
