Default Used growlers worth it???

I was at a antique store the other day and saw a growler that had some German writing on it, don't remember exactly what it was, and it was resealable. Is this worth picking up? Could it be cleaned and reused? I didn't thoroughly inspect it, but it seemed to be metal, not glass.

I think I'll run by there this week and grab it, but I was wondering if it would be fine to reuse it. And also, if so, where could I pick a replacement gasket?

i dont see why you couldnt reuse it, they sell them at my local HBS and glass is glass no matter how old it is i would try your local HBS or online for gaskets.

It really depends on what type of metal they are. If it's pewter you probably don't want to use them as pewter contains lead.
