Same thing has happened to me. It has to do with the variety of Oxi Clean you buy. Sorry can't tell you the name of the one to aviod, but I can tell you how to get the residue off.
Buy a couple of gallons of vinegar, the cheap stuff. Soak bottles in it for a bit and pull them out and dry them. You can dilute with water if you want, but I don't think it does as good of job.
