The Johnson Controls IS 15A... the Brewers Edge (made by JC) is cheaper and has less robust wiring... so it is rated at 10A only.

Thanks Pol, I didn't know there were different models. This one does have a pretty thick cable. I use a digital probe thermometer for temp display. It has magnets on it so you can just stick it on the fridge/freezer.
