I've reused mine several times. Only drawback - hard to tell if the interior of the bottle is clean. I rinse them several times as soon as they are empty. No problems with contamination so far.

I don't know how you would remove the paint. I just leave them as is.

I had a bottle of Delerium Tremens that appeared to be ceramic. But upon further reading I discovered that the bottle was actually glass with a outer coating to appear ceramic. Wonder if that would be the case with those.
You probably already know this but, make sure to replace the rubber gasket.

I was able to remove the paint from mine with Acetone. The blue Rogue text was the hardest to remove, but eventually gave in, with some help from a scotch brite pad.

Yeah, You might as well not spend the time trying to remove the finish.

Besides, it helps keep light out. UV breaks down the alcohol and gives it an off flavor at the same time. I'm thinking your beer will appreciate the shade.
