My girlfriend just got back from vacation and brought me back a couple of growlers of beer from a brewery there. I don't know if I'm going to be able to drink it all while it's still good.

It occurred to me that it might keep better if I siphon it into individual bottles and cap them, since I have the equipment for it. I'm not looking for long term storage here, just want to get a few more days out of it.

Anyone see any reason why this could be a terrible idea?

other than a little oxidation and losing some of the carb, I think it'd be ok. The beer won't taste as well as it would have drinking straight from the growler but thats better than getting to flat beer in a week or so in my opinion.
