Default Priming Sugar % ????

Dose any one know the Dextrose % of the piriming sugar you buy at your LHBS?? I make Dextrose and can get 99% and 95% in liqued form. Was going to use it for priming but dont want to make bottle bombs if this is a higher % Dextrose than what the calculators are calling for.

Detrose is dexrose, all pretty pure. How do you make dextrose??? Table sugar will work for priming as well I believe.

My understanding is that priming sugar is all dextrose except for water weight (somewhere around 5%, depending). If anyone knows better pls chime in.

Dextrose is made from corn starch. We run the starch threw a process that dose the same as your boddy dose and turns the starches to sugars. I work at a plant and that is what I make there. Dextrose is made in diffrent puritys. We make a 95% and a 99% it is made in lower purity also. just was hoping someone would know arround what % the crystalized Dex the HBS is selling so I dont make bottle bombs by useing a suger with a higher % and over carbing. Our do you all think a small % diffrence will not make that big of a diffirence. Thanks. Anyone ever use liqued dextrose before?

I am not at the store right now so I can't check. But I remember reading that the Dextrose that I buy from my supplier is 97%. I can't swear to it but that's what’s coming to mind. To answer your ?? About will it make a difference? Are you brewing a 2.5% beer or a 10.5% beer? Is it a Pilsner or a Belgian? 80% and 97% I think would make a difference.

I pland to use this on all my beers. What I have to bottle now is a 4.7ABV lager. Im thinking that if its with in 1% to 3% Of the 95dex I can get I will use it and see how it comes out.
