Default Priming with maple syrup?

So I've read a lot of the priming threads and am going to prime my Maple Porter with maple sugar. My question is: if I am using 3.5 oz of maple sugar for my 5 gallon batch, how much water should I use to boil it in prior to priming?

Not much. Just enough to dissolve it - same as you do with regular sugar.
