Default Priming with DME question

I read of some brewers using DME to prime before bottling. Is there any advantage to using a specific type of DME (light, amber, wheat, etc.)?

It depends. If the beer is a wheat then priming with wheat will be OK.

Anything else I'd just use the lightest DME I have on hand.

I use extra light as it is the most versatile in terms of color - you can carb very light lagers without darkening up your beer. Other then the color there is no real difference that I can think of.
