Default pin lock to ball lock

I just bought 2-3gal cornies on ebay, and one is a pinlock. According to Northern brewer "It is not possible to replace pin-lock plugs with ball-lock plugs!"

But I took a plug off another keg and it screwed right on. This should work, right? Or will a lucky hbt'er be getting a deal on a 3 gal pin lock cornie.

Too bad that you're 2 weeks too late. I just sold a ball lock 3g because the rest of my kegs are pin. We could have traded.

I have all pin-lock kegs and some of the kegs are from pepsi and some are from coke.
