This may sound like a completely dumb question, but thankfully this forum is here to help people like me.

I plan on getting supplies soon to build my keezer but I don't know if I should by a shank with or without a pre-welded nipple. I chuckle a bit every time I read this sentence. What is the difference between each shank?

Thanks for the help and I look forward to some memorable quotes as answers.

I prefer the shanks without the welded nipple. This way, you can change it out in the future if you decide to go with a different size line. As for the difference between shanks...it's all about your preferences. I like longer shanks because I feel like the more shank you have in the fridge, the colder your tap stays. Everyones needs on length and size will vary, so I think the shank companies just like to cover their bases.
