Default Noob question on kegging

I want to only keg half of my batch. is there anything different that needs to be done or do i just treat it if it was a full keg.

I've done this, Kegged two and half gallons in a five gallon keg.

Sure, you can do this, just make sure if you use priming sugar that you use the correct amount or prime it all in your bottling bucket. I would also shout some CO2 into the keg to dispace any O2. Luck - Dwain
