Default new tower questions

go i got my new tower. i found a good deal on it on craigs list.

i started taking it apart and realized a few things.

the faucets are plastic. is this going to be an issue?

the fittings where the beer line goes into the shank are like none i have ever seen. has anyone seen these? where can i get more of the black rubber pieces?

the lines used are much smaller than the line i am using now. is this an issue? should i make the smaller ID lines longer or shorter than my larger id lines i am running now?

finally, there was a copper pipe running into and out of the tower. i assume this is to keep the tower cold. can i do this, or should i just put a fan at the bottom of the tower to blow up cold air from the keezer?

If they are in good shape and not scratched, I'd say they're usable. I would look at replacing them personally (PERLICKS!)

No clue- Check out local hardware store or restaurant supply place maybe? If you change faucets, maybe re-do the shank setup? Not quite sure how they're in there...

Depends on your shanks- 3/16 is about normal. Any idea what size they are? They might be an issue... Short lines, no kinks, and no part above the taps... Maybe doable?

I actually have a piece of copper tubing I twisted around my lines in an effort to help keep them cooler; It helps, but blower would be beneficiary.

I say make a mold of it and make your own.. Haha ok a little ambitious. Good luck! Not much help, sorry

the only problem with replacing the shanks is that they are only about 1/2 inch compared to the 1'' that seem to be pretty standard. other faucets fit right on the shanks. i would love to find black perlicks. are they made anywhere? anyone wanna trade for some perlicks.

whats the big deal about perlicks any way. i am kind of new to all of this.

as far as the fitting on the end of the shank, if i boil the rubber gasket in there, or sanitize it in some solution, would it be safe to use? or should i seriously try to find new ones.
