Default Mni kegs and forced carb, can it work?

So wife gave me the idea, rather than bottle could I reuse the mini kegs from Newcastle. Then I theoretically force carb after conditioning/ lagering in the fridge.

Read up about using the 5L mini kegs... IME, they suck (hands down). They cannot withstand much pressure, so you need to be very careful about how you carbonate them. I DID use some for parts of two brews/batches. Due to trouble cleaning them, how they leak (CO2 and brew) and such, I never used them again.

IMO, better off saving the money trying to get those to work and put it towards real kegs.

I will think and research this some more. I love the Newcastle in the mini's. I was hoping for more responses, so thanks for the help.

I don't know about the mini kegs frmo newcastle, but if you mean the ordinary 5 liter kegs from a lot of commercial beer like these:

These can hold only about 2.5 - 3 bar pressure.
Over here (BE,NL,DE) they sell some rubber stops with a presure valve: http://www.brouwmarkt.nl/gummidop-met-drukventiel-voor-drukvat-mini-liter-p-1666.html
