Hey guys,

I have a perlick 525ss that keeps leaking. It was fine for months but lately it has been a pain. It is not leaking from the spout itself. It leaks from the top screw on piece up near the handle. I've broken it down several times, cleaned it and put it back together and that fixes it for about a week but it will start leaking again.

Has anyone ever had this happen? I've looked at the o-rings inside and can't see anything wrong with them and I've ran hot water through it so it is clean. I can't figure out why I keep losing the seal. I lost half a gallon of beer today because it started leaking when I wasn't home and SWMBO wasn't sure how to back off the pressure. I draw the line when I start losing beer

Ok, it looks like the piece I am leaking from is referred to as then"bonnet". Perlicks document on how to clean the 500 series says that the o-ring is likely either damaged or not installed correctly. I'll check into this further, and maybe order some replacements. Theyre cheap.

O-ring would be the first thing I'd try. The magic McMaster Carr o-ring list thread likely has them listed. Dirt cheap way to get a many lifetimes supply.

The two O-rings above and below the ball in the faucet lever are the same size. While you're waiting for replacements, you might try swapping them.


Also, if you have some keg lube handy, put a film on those O-rings...

fwiw, the "bonnet" is item 7 in the image I posted. With pair of good o-rings dosed with a touch of keg lube, tightening the bonnet will solve the typical 525ss misbehavior...
