Default Lagering in keg? Carbonating a good idea?

So, I am doing my first lager. Yay.

Here's the problem. I am all out of carboys. Everything is full and I need a carboy. My lager has been sitting in the secondary for about three weeks now but still needs another 6 weeks or so. I am thinking about racking it into an empty sanitized keg and letting it sit in that, which isn't a big deal since lots of people use kegs as secondary fermentors.

My question: Is it a good idea/bad idea/doesn't make a difference if I apply carbonation to the keg and start the process of set it and forget it carbonation at this point? Anyone here do that?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Dean

It doesn't matter if it's in a keg or carboy- it'll still lager the same. You can put the gas on it if you want.
