Default Kegging from bottles

I have a batch of bottles that turned out to be gushers. I can only assume the fermentation was slightly stuck when I bottled. I was thinking about opening them all up and dumping them into a CO2-purged keg, then sealing it up and trying to adjust carbonation the usual way. Has anyone ever done this?

I'm considering doing this for under-carbed bottles. I bottled from a room temp keg into room temp bottles. It foamed a lot and I ended up with flat beer in my bottles. Thinking about pouring it all back into a keg and re-carbing. I assume sanitation, sanitation, sanitation. There are concerns about oxidation and I'll probably have bad head retention, but it will be better than drinking flat beer.

I think the various beer deities would provide special dispensation for such things when dealing with otherwise lost causes. Go forth and keg those bottles...

Cheers!

I would just make sure that it tastes good first to rule out a bacterial infection. After that... I say keg away
