Default keg off taste

This is the second time I've kegged a beer and had an off taste to it ( can't describe it) , but I know its not an infection because I brew 7 gal and bottle the remainder which taste fine. The only thing I can figure is spraying the inside with starsan?? Also; one keg off taste, next batch taste fine then this keg off. Any thoughts?

What are you using to clean your keg with between uses? It could be residue from a cleaning agent possibly. How about your CO2? What type of bottle? How old is the bottle/CO2? How was your beer line cleaned/sanitized last?

These are just a few questions I would ask myself in trying to isolate the issue creating the off taste.

Always use oxi-clean and rinse a few times through the lines, and sanitize with starsan. CO2 a few mths old. Maybe I'm not rinsing out the oxi enough??

This could be the cause of the off taste...You will have to run clean h2o through the beer lines for some time to get all the oxi residue out.

Is it a metallic of flavour? That would be gas related.

no- not metallic. Going to try rinsing longer. May even try forgoing starsan in keg and just remove beer line and sanitize it.

My kegs all get filled while having StarSan foam still in them. Same with bottles. I highly doubt that's the cause of the off-flavors.
