Default Keg carbing question

Ok, so I have always force carbed my kegs (crank to 30psi, shake, etc). However, for my pumpkin ale I decided to rack to the keg and set at 12psi and let it sit like that. So I have never done this before, is there any need to agitate(shake) the keg? And, about how long will this take till it's ready to drink?
Thanks

No need to shake unless you are in a hurry. It should take about a week. I always set my kegs at serving pressure and then let them sit (about a week) until they are ready. It is a lot less likely to get overcarbed accidently and it allows the beer some time to condition further.
