Default Jocky box with vinyl tubing?

I think I already know the answer to this, but just in case:
Can I use vinyl tubing in the cooling part of my jockey box? I suspect it just won't conduct warmth enough to do the job... but I've had a couple of leaks at the connections between the stainless steel tubing and the vinyl tubing, and boy it would be nice (lazy though, yes) to just run vinyl straight through.

Thanks,
Keegan

You answered your own question. I think the principal would fall under thermal conductivity. This reminds me of a trick that Mr. Wizard did. He wrapped a $1 bill over a copper pipe and held a flame to it. The copper kept the flame from burning through the dollar.
