I just paid $20 at a place called NFC in Chicago. Airgas was more and not reliable anymore.

I stopped going to airgas years ago when I realized that the price varied each trip. Sometimes it was $15 sometimes $20, once it was $27/28 and that was the last time. I even asked the guy why it was so much more than usual and he said that the regular price was some outrageous number and that its up to the employee to discount it however they want and that he was giving me a great deal. I go to west air now and have never paid that much. And they swapped out my 5lb for a 20lb and swapped my other 20lb tank all for less than it would have been to swap one 20lb and one 5lb. Plus they have a frequent buyers card so every 10th swap is free.

My local airgas wanted ....$32 for 5#.

Went to a welding supply store instead, saved $10.

Damn. I'm holding onto this invoice and taking it with me next time I need a fill.

I paid $10 today for a refill for a 5 lb tank. It's a hole in the wall place that only does this between 8 and 8:30 M-F. The rest of what they do is only commercial.

where in LA are you?

I've had my 20# filled a few times at Tym's off of the 405 in inglewood
http://www.tymsinc.com/

usually around $26 i believe for 20# tank as of late last year

they were cheaper and had better hours than Airgas - they fill the tank on the spot, never had a swap

Just exchanged a 5 lb for $28 and all places around here are within $1 or 2 of each other. And exchange only, to refill your tank takes a month for some reason.

I just paid $32 to airgas, but they agreed to upgrade my 5# tank to a 10# tank. Hopefully the refills/tank swaps on 10# will be more reasonable in the future.

If anyone knows of a good CO2 source around Sacramento, would love to hear it. Stuff is expensive.

Try a fire extinguisher place, I get everything filled there and they are normally cheaper.
